Farm Tips: Keeping Ladybugs Alive
Farm Tips with Sara | Center for Land-Based Learning
Ladybugs are great for the garden! They help rid the area of crop-damaging aphids, mealybugs and other destructive insect pests. Ladybugs also have 4 major stages in their lifecycle, so it’s important to keep them alive through this whole lifespan. Not only do the adult ladybugs feed on pesky insects in the garden, but they also lay their eggs among the aphids or other prey, so then that way when the larvae ladybugs emerge, they can feed on these insects too.
